07.04 – 30.04.24
Schaufenster*, Hauptstrasse 102, Silandro/Schlanders
In the exhibition, Tiberio Sorvillo presents a series of new photographic works that open a new chapter of a long-term project in which he portrays black swans in various cities around the world, including Adelaide, London, Innsbruck and Sarentino. The photographs, taken with different cameras, both analogue and digital, attempt to confront
nature photography in order to reinterpret it. Before 1697, nobody could have imagined the existence of black swans. After their discovery in Australia, they were exported all over the world causing much amazement and becoming a symbol to describe unexpected events that can change the course of history indelibly. (from Nassim Nicholas Taleb, The Black Swan Theory, 2007). Through Sorvillo's photographs, we are invited to reflect on the subjective nature of our knowledge and the importance of remaining open to change.
